About these terms
These terms apply to www.belfasteats.co.uk, run by Belfast Eats ("we", "us"). By using the site or claiming a listing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our privacy policy and cookie policy also apply.
Using the site
You may browse, search and share Belfast Eats for personal, non-commercial use. You must not:
- copy, scrape or republish the directory, in whole or in large part, without our written permission;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site;
- submit false information, impersonate a business or person, or post anything unlawful, defamatory or offensive.
Business listings
- Free. Claiming, keeping and updating a standard listing is free of charge.
- Eligibility. Listings are for independent and locally owned food businesses in Belfast and Northern Ireland in our five categories: coffee shops, fish and chips, restaurants, bakeries, and vegan and vegetarian eateries.
- Verification. You must be the owner or an authorised manager. We verify claims by phone or email and may refuse or withdraw a claim we can't verify.
- Your responsibilities. You're responsible for keeping hours, prices, menus and allergen information accurate and for meeting food hygiene, allergen labelling and trading standards law.
- Ranking. Directory order is not for sale. We decide how listings are ordered and displayed.
Your content
When you send us text, logos, menus or photos for your listing, you confirm you own them or have permission to use them, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display them on Belfast Eats and our social channels while your listing is live. You keep ownership. You can ask us to remove any of it at any time.
Online ordering
Online ordering web apps and mobile apps are provided by Bizzy Apps Pro, not by Belfast Eats. The published pricing is 5% per order, VAT included, and a one-off set-up fee of £299, VAT included. Your ordering service is governed by a separate agreement between you and Bizzy Apps Pro, and their terms apply to it.
For customers: when you place an order through a restaurant's ordering app, your contract is with that restaurant. Questions about food, refunds or delivery should go to the business you ordered from.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep listings up to date, but opening hours, menus, prices and allergen details can change without notice. Always check directly with the business, especially about allergies. Our guides and editorial reflect honest opinion and are never paid for.
Liability
The site is provided free and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect loss, loss of profit or loss arising from reliance on listing information, or from the food, service or conduct of any business listed. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of Northern Ireland. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
Suspension & removal
You can ask us to remove your listing at any time. We may edit, suspend or remove listings or content that break these terms, that we can't verify, or where a business has closed. We'll tell verified owners before removing a listing unless there's a legal or safety reason not to.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction. We may update these terms and will show the new date at the top of this page. Questions: hello@belfasteats.co.uk.
